I just loaded the latest SP for Outlook 2002 (XP) and now I get a pop-up
window stating something like: "A user is attempting to access your e-mail
addresses stored in Outlook...this may be a virus if un prompted" You have
to click yes or no to grant or deny access.

I click no, but the same prompt pops up at least ten more times, until I
load email again and I do it all over again. I probably clicked "no" 1
hundred times today so far.

Is there a setting I can turn off to stop this prompt?

I am running Norton AntiVirus 2004 which is current, and I performed a full
system scan today - no virus's found. PLus, Antivirus is set to check every
email message.

So, your reply is obvious, and not helpful.

One more note - the Outlook prompt pops up with the receipt of new email
messages arriving in my inbox - so any virus threat would be from a new
email. I just want to set the setting to never grant access and do not
prompt me.

you miss the point if a program is trying to send email without your
knowledge then you have a virus Norton or not!

to stop the message go to tools under outlook then options then the security
tab.

it will then stop telling you when other programs try to send emails without
your knowledge

Wayne;

You don't say what to do in the security tab - how will it "stop telling you
when other programs try to send emails without your knowledge"?

Hi Jeff:

Try doing an on-line scan from Trend Micro at this web site. It's free and
very good.

Before you do,however, why not delete your email account and reestablish
it. Sometimes email accounts get corrupted from one thing or another.

Best of luck - Hope all works for you.
