I have a pop account set up on two computers, laptop and desktop....I have
them both set to keep a copy of the messages on the server...Unfortunately,
what is happening is one of the computers receives two copies of the e-mail
and the other doesn't receive any...can any one offer some help?

Is gmail the server?

It is Yahoo Business Account (Bizmail)

After the PC that gets two copies performs a send/.receive, use web mail, if
you can, to examine the Inbox on the server to see of, in fact, the message
actually remains on the server and let me know. I'd like you to see if the
"leave a copy on the server" option is performing properly.

Nope, it doesn't show up on Webmail....What's next?

If it doesn't show up in webmail, then your Outlook is downloading and
deleting the messages. Time for you to examine the Advanced tab of your
account(s) Properties pages and verify you've enabled the option to save the
message. Also make sure you don't have any add-ins acting as a proxy
between Outlook and your server, like an antispam or -virus scanner or a
mail filter program like Mailwasher.

Are you scanning your incoming and outgoing emails with your Anti Virus ??

None of that seems to be the problem...I even disabled the anti-virus....not
sure what else to do.

If you have Norton,MacAfee or Trend you need to uninstall them and then re-install without the email integration(scanning). Otherwise disabling the scanning only has no effect.

I have Zone Labs...

I actually went to Yahoo and sent a message - saw it in the inbox, went to
outlook, two copies were received and then the Yahoo copy was gone.

I think I got - as stupid as it is...both accounts were named the same so I
named one Laptop and one Desktop, and that seems to have solved the
problem....sometimes it is the craziest things that work....thanks for all of
your help.
