Hi there,

Qmail server, outlook 2002 / 2000 clients (latest service packs), os
WinXP SP2.

Clients drop large attachments, the limit is around 20mb. Dropped
without a trace & warning, except for a pause after the mail has been
downloaded but before it is shown. Apparently outlook scanned the
attachment and then decided to drop it.

I put up sniffers on both sides and saw that the packet for the
attachment did go through.

If big & small attachments in the same mail, only big attachments
disappeared.

Other MUA including outlook express, no problem to receive the
attachment.

Checked no rules on clients, apparently no settings to make it reject
large attachments.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Eric

Try increasing the server timeout value on the Advanced tab of the account
properties pages and the send/receive interval in the Send/Receive group.
(I don't have OL 2002 in front of me at the moment, so can't tell you
exactly the menu items. For OL 2003, it's Tools>Send/Receive>Send/receive
Settings>Define Send/Receive Groups>Schedule an automatic send/receive.)
