Outlook Default Printer not set with Active Directory Groups.

I'm finding that when I setup my users in AD with groups. Then set
there Default Printer there outlook does not change with this. On some
users the Outlook default printer is an Adobe printer that they never
use. In the past this was done with a script but we are trying to get
away from that.

Any suggestions?

Send yourself two messages, one Plain Text, the other HTML. Then try to print
them.

I suspect you'll find that Plain Text does go to your default printer, HTML
wont.

If you hadn't already noticed, "Outlook uses IE for HTML eMail" (quoting MS
after I logged a bug for this over a year ago). Compare the print dialoges for
Plain and HTML eMail, you'll see they're different. If you try to print from
the Inbox view, the Plain Text one will let you choose the printer, the HTML
one won't. If you then open the eMails and print, the dialogues are completely
different, but you can at least select the printer!

The HTML eMail defaults to the default printer set in IE - which isn't
necessarily the default printer set in Windows.

I had to write a VBScript that runs at logon to recreate all the printer
mappings to get around this, using AD groups didn't work for me.
