Rifleman, I have copied the data from the CD into a temp
folder on the hard drive, and un-did the read only
attribute, but am having difficulties from there. I have
tried different ways to import the recovered WAB folder
data, but can't figure it out. Can view it, so I know it's
there. I just don't know how to get it to where it needs
to be on the in use outlook. Can't seem to make any of
the import/export options work. Am I going to have to key
them all in? Also, in the other recovered data folders
that are the personal folders and email content - they all
have a .dbx suffix ---? I recognize the titles - I know
they are my recovered personal folders, but I can't figure
out how to get them over to my current outlook program
either. Can you help?

dbx file are Outlook Express, not Outlook
So if yr trying to import into OE yr in the wrong ng
Or are you trying to export frm OE to OL?

I have been using Outlook (although, there was some saved
OE stuff from last year in temporary folders...). I had to
take my "failed hard drive" to a lab to get the data
recovered (very expensive - I'll back up more often from
now on!!!!). I indicated what data/folders I wanted
recovered, and they WERE able to recover what I asked for,
and place it on a CD. I am now transferring the recovered
data from the recovery CD to my new hard drive and
programs. I have completed the transfer of everything
except the outlook stuff. Also on the recovery data CD, I
can see the WAB folder, and several other recovered
folders, which by looking at the titles, I know are my
personal folders with saved emails - you know: the folders
you create for emails from friends, family, etc. BUT,
they all have a .dbx suffix, and I can't figure out how to
get them over to my existing Outlook program, not Outlook
Express.....??? thx, kh.

You will have to import them into Outlook Express FIRST and then transfer
them from OE to Outlook. Outlook cannot import OE files on their own.

Okay, I'll give it a try. Thanks very much for your help
and quick response - it is appreciated. kh.
