Hi All
Can anybody tell me what exactly the Outlook data files do? and what happens
if you delete one. Does it automatically reset itself? I somehow ended up
with more than one so I have done a backup and cleaned them out by deleting
htem.

Hi Russ,

Sorry if I am not sounding clear :) But I have got a bit confused with what
exactly the data files are. I understand that they are the date that is able
to be backed up from outlook but are they the place that your emails are
stored?

What happens if you end up with more than one data file, this is I think
where I have gotten confused. Is it ok if I just delete some and leave only
one in that area...eg. the location where they are stored?

Thanks

Did you read the information in the links I provided?
It tells you everything you would need to know about Outlook data files. The
file to which you refer your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all
the mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
