Outlook "copies" email from 3rd Party

Outlook 2002 is copying email instead of downloading them
from the 3rd party server. This is on a laptop if it
makes a difference. I'm sure there's a quick fix to this
issue.

What type of account is this? IMAP? POP3? HTTP?

Check Tools | E-Mail Accounts | View or change existing e-mail accounts |
Next | <select the account> | Change | More Settings | Advanced

Is the Delivery option to leave a copy of messages on the server checked?
 
It's a POP3 account.

The Delivery Option to leave a copy of messages on the
server is NOT checked.

Do you mean it's downloading the messages but leaving a copy on the server?
If so, turn that feature off. Tools>E-mail Accounts> View or change
existing e-mail accounts. Select your account, click "Change">More
Settings>Advanced. Uncheck "Leave a copy of messages on the server".

If you turn on diagnostic logging, could you maybe post the log file? Info
