Outlook closes when I click ok to personal folders Properties window

I am running win XP and Outlook 2003.

In the Navigation Pane, with either Mail or Folders List appearing,
whenever I right click Personal Folders (and there are 2 of them) and
open Properties, and then click OK, Outlook closes.

In addition, when Contacts is in the Navigation pane, whenever I right
click Contacts (or another item Contacts in Personal Folders) and
select Properties, Outlook closes.

Why is this? It entirely limits working with the Properties window of
the Contacts (and Contacts in Personal Folders) Properties.

Have you tried creating a new mail profile?
