Outlook can not read calendar

Outlook is working in all areas but the calandar shortcut. It can not read
calandar files. However, it does the reminders as if they have not been
lost??

What happens when you select the Calendar folder? If you get an error
message, what does that message say? What version of Outlook are you using?
What type of account? Are you using an Exchange mailbox or a PST for mail
delivery?
 
When I select it, a blank colored screen shows up in place of the calander
and the error message reads, can not read calander file. Outlook sp1 part of
Office professional. Can't answer the email question.

This doesn't make sense to me because there is no such thing as a "calendar
file" in Outlook.

That doesn't answer the question. Click Help>About and post what it says
for version.
Can't answer the email question.

You MUST know what type of account you have. If you don't, how did you
create it?
