Outlook automatically deletes the original message after I reply

I would like to turn this option off, so that original messages stay in my
inbox after I have replied to them, for me to deal with personally. How do I
do that?
 
Check to make sure your view under menu View - Current and make sure it is not set to show only Unread Items for This Folder.

Also check to see if any Rules are setup to automatically delete emails. Tools - Rules.

May also want to check to see if any auto-archiving is setup by righ clicking on the Folder and selecting Archiving though this may be the least likely since it is based more on a specific time frame and not immediate.
