I have a user who has set up AutoArchive correctly in all respects, as far as
I can tell. When the archiving runs, it creates folders identical to the
mailbox, but all folders are empty. There are LOTS of message to be moved
older than the set time.

I am using Office XP, Outlook 2002 with SP2.

Any ideas?

What makes you think they're older than the set time? Archiving doesn't use
the Received date/time.

Well, what date/time does it use? I didn't know there was any other
time.

It uses the "modified" time. Right-click on the Inbox header and choose
Field Chooser. Select "Date/Time fields" from the drop-down at the top.
Now, drag the "Modified" field to the header bar. You can then compare the
modified date with the received date and see why the item didn't archive.

Aha! Yes that is exactly it. The files have a modified date much more
recent becaue they were imported from one location to another.
Thank you very much!
