Outlook & attachments take forever to attach

I am using XP Pro SP2 and Office Pro 2007. When i try and attach a pdf file
to my Outlook message it take at least a minute before it is finally
attached. During this time the email message is frozen.

Any suggestion would be welcome.

What happens when you disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program
(and disable or not load any other anti-malware programs, including
those that run as add-ons to Outlook)?

Running F-Secure for anti virus and have excluded pdf files for those to
scan. Seem to have solved the problem. Thanks for you help.
