A couple of user are having the intermittent problem of outlook (2000)
application hanging when trying to attach a file(s) from the network. They
may be successful a few times but inevitably it will end up with the program
hanging. The files they attach are mainly word (97) documents and not very
large sizes.

I have recreated there outlook profile without success and I am struggling
to find anything on the web so any help would me greatly appreciated.

Regards

Nigel

Does the PC lock up when trying to browse or when actually double clicking
the file to attach? If the first; clear the Internet Explorer history and
try again

Tips of the month:
-Creating Signatures
-Create an Office XP CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 3

Thanks for the advice Robert, it is unfortunately the latter (when actually
double clicking the file to attach) but I gave it a try anyway,
unsuccessfully though I might add as I have just received the phone call to
say "sorry bud but its still happening" any other ideas?

Do they use Word or Outlook as the e-mail editor and in what format do they
compose? Plain Text, HTML or Rich Text. Does it work for them with Outlook
as the editor and Plain Text as the format?

Hi Robert, due to the nature of the business (Lawyers) users usually prefer
RTF for the formatting options. And Outlook is our email editor not Word

Alright, but does it work when you create a Plain Text e-mail with Outlook
set as your editor?

Sorry about delay in replying but i thought i would leave it a couple of
days to see how things settled after setting the mail format to Plain Text.
No phone calls so far so fingers cross.
