Hi,
I have been using OE for email for very long time. Would it be a problem to
use outlook as a contact manager, phone numbers mostly, and nothing else.
Will they operate (winxp pro/eo6/outlook 2000)Ok with out trying to sync or
out do each other?
Thanks
Frank L

No problem, install Outlook with No Internet or just don't configure any
accounts. Why not make the complete switch?

Thanks for the input. To answer your question, I just always liked the idea
of keeping email addresses(internet info) seperate from important family and
friends home and business addresses, phone numbers, etc. Silly I guess, but
email addresses do not have much info, whereas Outlook would have all
private info. Paranoia comes to mind. Flawed logic?

Well, are you concerned that someone else will see these things, or is it
just to keep them separate? You can always create multiple contact folders
if you want in Outlook. Or use one contact folder & multiple categories.

Exactly, Yes, I am concerned that someone else will see these things, have
access to family and friends personal info. If this is , as I stated
previously, flawed logic, please just tell me and explain, if you would? I
would certainly rather use just one program for all, But....
Thanks,
Frank L

Relatively speaking, and on the caveat that we are talking about Outlook
2003, Outlook is a much more secure program than Outlook Express. It can be
password protected so prying eyes will not see what they should not. It is
set by default to not display potentially harmful attachments (which is FAR
too easy to turn back on in Outlook Express) and it will not display HTML or
web bugs by default.

My choice - I use OE for news groups and Outlook for everything else. Of
course, I *could* be a little biased. :)
