i recently reinstalled my OS. before doing this, i
questioned the tech i was dealing with how to save my
address book in outlook. she had me save any 'pst' files
to cd. now that i have outlook up and running, i can't
get anyone to help me transfer these file(s) to outlook
from cd. can anyone help?

Go to FILES | IMPORT | EXPORT | IMPORT FROM ANOTHER PROGRAM OR FILE | select
"PST" | select BROWSE to find your saved PST file | NEXT |FINISH.

This should do it. If unable to do it this way, try copying your PST file
from your CD to your hard drive first, then repeat the above steps to import
from your hard drive file.

Do NOT import your .pst file. Copy it to the hard drive and remove the
read-only from its properties. Then use File->Open to open your .pst file.

Importing will consistently lose connections between contacts and journal,
received dates, custom forms, etc. Always use this method to restore .pst
files to Outlook if you don't want to lose data.
