Hi I've got Microsoft windows xp professional vesion 2002 Service Pack 2.
outlook 2003.

There is only one windows user account on my computer. In it Microsoft
outlook holds onto my fathers Contacts, Calender, email... informaton.

1) I would like to put all my information (including email) seperately into
outlook in the same windows user account*. I will then just switch between my
father's anf my info in outlook.

2) after step "1" I will synchronise my pocket pc to my information and my
fathers pocket pc to his information.

* It will be difficult for me to make another user because the current user
is administrator, the moment I make a second user account I won't be able to
access my mane user account - "administrator" unless in safe mode.

Hey there -

This response is in regards to you creating a new user account.

You indeed will be able to access your administrator account if you create a
new user.

From the logon screen "assuming it is the graphical screen and not the logon
dialog box" you would normally see your user accounts on this system. From
here you can hit CTRL ALT DELTE (all at the same time) TWO times, this will
bring up the logon dialog box where you can input the user name, in this
instance, administrator.

Hope this helps.

My opinion is that you and your father should have separate Windows
accounts, but barring that, you can use separate mail profiles.

and my fathers pocket pc to his information.

Enter Control Panel and start the Mail applet. Click Show Profiles, then
Add. Add a new mail profile for your father. This will allow you to have
separate folder sets and separate mail accounts. If you enable prompting
(which you should see after the second profile has been created), then to
switch between your mail profiles, stop and restart Outlook and it will
prompt you for the mail profile to use.

Very bad idea to be using the Windows username "Administrator" for your
ordinary login. Create a new one and then copy the contents of C:\Documents
and Settings\Administrator to the new Windows user folder C:\Documents and
Settings\user. The your new user will have all the data you had before.

"My opinion is that you and your father should have separate Windows

EXACTLY what I want to do. I don't want to get involved with administrator
'stuff' but just want to be able to accdess Outlook for either account. I've
set up my husband's webmail account, created a new Outlook account but CAN'T
FIND HOW TO ACCESS IT! I know it's going to be something simple but I am
drawing a blank... (This wasn't my post originally, I"m just jumping in
because the question is the same.)

I didn't say anything about creating another mail ACCOUNT, I said you need
another mail PROFILE. See this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us . Once you have two mail
profiles, you configure Outlook (via the Mail applet in Control Panel) to
ask which profile it should use when you start it. You then configure the
appropriate account int he appropriate profile. Whhen you want to switch
profiles, close and restart Outlook and let it ask again or create desktop
shortcuts that will start Outlook using the profile you want.

Either way, you're going to have to do "administrator stuff", at least a
little. Since Outlook doesn't have "identities" like Outlook Express does,
it's just a little more comlicated, but not a lot more.
