outlook 97 setup

I am trying to set up an account and need to set up a user and email
address. How do I do that? I would like to link my yahoo account to my pop 3
account. Appreciate all replies.

Hi - you'd need to pay Yahoo to access your account via POP3 - it isn't
available for their free accounts. That said, there are several free
utilities that will allegedly let you sneak by this, such as YahooPOPs - you
might try googling.

Also - Outlook 97 is incredibly old and outdated at this point - it was also
buggy at release and MS released OL98 as a free upgrade for a period of
time. I strongly suggest that if you want to use Outlook to its fullest
capacity, you invest in Outlook 2003 if your system will run it.

Otherwise, I'd stick with Outlook Express, honestly.
 
Outlook 97 has a builtin benefit of not being able to do HTML email.

Yep. And my old Apple IIe was safer because it had no Internet connectivity.
Oh, same's true of my blender, come to think of it. :-)

Only true for Yahoo.com and Yahoo.ca. All other yahoo domains allow POP3
access for free. Not only that, they give you a free STMP server as well.
That said, there are several free

Or go to the UK Yahoo site and open an email account there. Or the
Australian site, Spanish site, German site ...

I never really understood that aphorism. Surely, one is required to *have*
the cake already in order to *eat* it. And couldn't one eat *part* of the
cake?
