I'm getting killed by spam. Unfortunately, the spammers are using
some software that modifies the text of the subject line, and are
using html to format their messages. What I have found is that many
of these emails have hyperlinks to the same commercial web sites, so I
started viewing the source of the emails, copying the majority of the
URL that is being sent, and pasting that in one of my rules.

What is weird, is that the rule does not apparantly check the message
when it arrives. However, when I select the Tools-RulesWizard-RunNow,
this rule process properly and permanently deletes these messages.

I don't have the option of updating to a later version of
Office/Outlook. Is there a patch or some other fix that will Outlook
to check the source code of an html message when the message arrives.

I see that as well, and my theory is that because it's not text as it's
delivered (it's quoted-printable or base64-encoded), Outlook's rules won't
catch it. Once it has been rendered for viewing, however, the rules can
then "see" the text and match on it.
