After upgrading from Outlook 2003, the default behaviour has changed on handling
email navigation.

Previously, when I deleted a message, the prior message was displayed. Now
the the message window closes and I have to manually select the next message.

How can I get the delete action to load the prior message as it did before

Check the options here: Tools menu > Options > Email options. There should
be dropdown that defines the action to be taken

Tools-Options-Preferences-Email Options and change the drop-down box under

Hello Vince,

Thanks! I was looking at the check boxes below to see, and under advanced.
I totally spaced out the combo box on the right hand side showing "return
to inbox" as my choice. It is now working as expected.

Have a great day!

Do you know if your recipient is using Outlook and an IMAP account? There is
a problem in some versions of Outlook that causes IMAP servers to send "not
read". See the section entitled "An Outlook - IMAP Virus? No, Read Receipts"
at http://www.slipstick.com/
