Sorry if this gets posted twice, but I am not seeing my earlier post showing
up.

My email account has gotten hit by a major spammer. I am receiving HUNDREDS
of emails from varous "postmasters" telling me that my email to whoever has
bounced. I have *NOT* sent hundreds of emails to individuals, so the only
thing I can guess is that my email address has been picked up by at least
one major spammer, filling my inbasket with HUNDREDS of emails.

I use MS Outlook 2007, which will not open now, due to the HUNDREDS of new
emails in my inbasket. I had lots of emails that I would rather not loose,
if I have a choice.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get Outlook to open? When I click on my
icon, it just sits there and basically does NOTHING.

Thank you,
Brenda

Have you checked your application event viewer for any Office-related errors?
It's possible your PST file is corrupted, you can try to repair it by
running scanpst.exe (do a simple file search of your C drive to find it).
You might want to create a new profile for Outlook to use:

Your address has been hijacked by a spammer and that spammer is using it as
the sender address for all of his spew. SInce his mailing list is
inaccurate and contains many invalid addresses, you are getting the
non-delivery reports because the messages appeared to have come from you.
There's nothing you can do about it and it should taper off in a day or two.
You don't have to worry that your PC has been compromised, because it
probably hasn't.
