Outlook 2007 not compatible with Comcast

After spending 4 hours in chats with Comcast reps, and setting up Outlook
2007 as they indicate--it worked for one day and have worked intermittently
since. IE I get a few emails in Outlook but most don't get there.

My previous email provider worked great until Comcast took over. Is Outlook
2007 actually unworkable with Comcast?
 
If it is, it is because Comcast messed up somewhere ;-)
If you have any 3rd party mail scanning tools integrated with Outlook (virus
scanner, anti-spam, sync software, etc), disable this integration and try
again.
 
It did occur to me that Kaspersky could get in the way. But, I'm not willing
to be online without an antivirus and anti-spam in operation.
 
also, I note that I had no problem with the same Kaspersky suite,
pre-Comcast, receiving e-mail in Outlook. (The switch to Comcast just
happened last week).
