Have been using Outlook 2007 mail for several weeks - Yesterday, copies of
sent mail stopped being saved in the Sent Items Folder. Checked E- mail
options to see if the box "save copies of messages in Sent Item folder was
checked - it was. First attempt to resolve; unchecked the box, closed
Outlook, reboot the computer, recheck the box and reboot again. Didn't help.
Any ideas?
FYI, in another thread, I'm working on transferring .pst files - it's on a
different computer and nothing to do with this situation.

Are the items being saved anywhere? Did you set some kind of filtered view
on your Sent Items folder that might be hiding the newer items?

This is really weird. In sending a test message to myself this morning I
noticed the date that the computer applied was 2004! As of Sunday, the last
time messages were going into the Sent Items Folder, the date was correct.
How it got changed to 2004 is a mystery. I corrected the date on the
computer and the problem went away - sent email messages now being stored in
Sent Items once again. Next question is where are the missing messages? in
the Archive folder? Probably, but now the problem is where is that folder?
In my 2003 Outlook, I can access the archives folder easily as it appears on
the left hand column on my screen under "All Mail Folders". I looked in
File, Open, Outlook Data File and it's not there. Any ideas?

I have no idea where the missing messages might have gone, but you can search
your hard drive for all .PST files, then open them one by one in Outlook
using File | Open | Outlook Data File and check within. Make sure you search
within hidden folders on your hard drive to make sure you find all .PST files.
