Have been having several problems with the trial version of standard but
thought that these had ironed themselves out until this morning! Now Outlook
gets as far as loading the navigation bar and then stops. Task manager says
its still running but it does not respond except when I close it? This is
slowly driving me mad as I need several of the messages. Diagnostics came up
with the solution that the Beta is out of date - this was removed last week
to install the trial. Any help would be appreciated.

Locate outcmd.dat and extend.dat and rename them to .old. After this try
loading Outlook again.

Thanks - I have now tried that but with no luck. The egg timer stays on
screen but all I'm getting is the navigation bar and the main screen with
Personal folders in it but nothing else.

Does it work when you start Outlook in Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Thanks -it starts better in safe mode but as soon as I try to open any folder
such as the inbox it stops again and I have to close via Task Manager which
says its still running.

Sounds like there still must be something left of the BETA then. Which
issues were you referring too in your initial post and what did you do to
troubleshoot them. Verify in Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs that there
is nothing left of the BETA in there like for instance Expression Web BETA
(or Web Designer) or the PFD/XPS printing for Office add-in.

Hi and thanks very much for your help. Thinking about what I did originally
made me realise that the problems started when I tried to open the BETA data
files which I eventually managed to do. As the drop down menus were still
working in Safe Mode I have removed all the data files and added them back
one by one to find the culprit! Now working OK hopefully but without one
data file.

Thanks Again

You mean pst-file? Those are compatible so you might want to check it for
errors with scanpst.exe
