Gordon:
Obviously you have never worked in the Construction Industry. Even with all
the sophisticated software an dapplications to file everything
electronically, there are still several companies that insist on paper files
and nearly all clients, including the Federal Government require printed,
hard copies of everything, including emails as they are considered legal
correspondence.
The other item is when there are extras in the contract and certain
documents or even emails require an Engineers raised stamp, so again, they
have to be printed out.
Printing emails is also necessary for small contractors that don't use
computers to correspond and emails have to be faxed. We are still very far
away from relying soley on electronic copies of documents on hard drives.
