Outlook 2007 calendar default to monthly view

Primarily I use the monthly calendar view and I can't find a way to have OL
default to that view when I click on the calendar. Anyone figured out a way
to accomplish that?

That should stick by default. Once you've changed it to Month switching
folders or even restarting Outlook shouldn't put it back in Week or Day
view. Have you tried resetting the view on the folder already?
View-> Current View-> Customize Current View...-> Reset Current View
