I've jsut downloaded Office 2007 adn am gettign blank email bodies for new
messages.
How cna I fix this?

I'm having a similar issue. Mine is a little different in that there is a
single ascii character in the body of the email, but each email has a unique
ascii character in it.

AVG is completelty disabled and I've restarted twice to no avail.

Just got an email for a survey, and it came through fine and is readable. I
suspect any emails previously received are going to remain corrupted and
unrecoverable. Can anyone confirm my suspicion?

Not quite. Open the item, click other actions, select Encoding and
change it to something else (e.g. US-ASCII, Western European (Windows)).
Your email text is now visible until you close the item and move away
from it in the message list again. It's a bug and there doesn't seem to
be a permanent fix.

I think you looked in the Options dialog.
You need to open the email item, click on Other actions on the ribbon,
go to encoding and select More.
Every email has an encoding and it should show you the current on when
you pen Encoding.

I did indeed. There is an option in tools - options to auto-select, which I
have now disabled, and it gives me other options, but there is nothing
regarding "encoding" in the "Other Actions" in the main ribbon on the open
ribbon. The options are edit, recall, resend, forward, post reply, message
header and zoom. Am i being short changed?!

Hmm, sounds like you might be shortchanged. What does it say after the
dash (-) in the title of the Windows?
The other actions menu should contain: unwrap text, edit message, recall
this message, resend this message, save attachments, forward as
attachments, post reply to folder, encoding, message header, view
source, view in browser, zoom. Some of these might be disabled.
The other actions button is on the Message tab, Actions group.

It says - Message (Rich Text)
The "Unwrap Text" option is there, but greyed out. There are no options for
view source or view in browser, nor the encoding. If they have been disabled,
is there a way of enabling them?

Rich text? Interesting. No wonder you don't see the encoding option (I
tested this with Plain text and HTML emails).
Let me look into this and get back to you later.

Please, can somebody tell me, is there auto text or not in this vista?
If yes, What do I have to do to acess it? I am very disappointed . . .
Thanks, Anselmo

In our case - we don't have AVG at all. Additional behavior...

If autopreview is active, you can read the preview with no problem.
OWA displays the message in it's entirety.
If a mail has been copied to multiple recepients, some may receive the
message fine while others experience the "invisible" body.

This is getting VERY frustrating - Nobody seems to have a clear answer and
in our case - at a school - parents are sending emails that are sometimes not
"received" properly.

ANY help would be appreciated...
Thanks

My brother suggested I check the font I was using for email. When I did so,
I discovered that the "hidden" font effect was checked. (I'm sure I did not
intentionally check this box and if that's the soultion for others, then the
box gets checked inadvertently somehow.) Hope that's a fix for good. After
reinstalling Office, the problem went away temporarily.
