When I type in a name to address an email, unless I have mailed them already
and they appear on the recently used list, I then get a Check Names dialogue
box and have to then search for additional names, even though the name is in
the Address Book.

Not sure why this is happening - I do have the Option to Suggest Names
checked?

Any ideas?

Thanks

That's the way it works. The auto complete list is dynamic and only has names
you typed before. Workaround--Put a Check Names button on the toolbar so you
can use Check Names to bring up matching possibilities when you type the
first letters.

But with OLXP it would automatically pick the name up from the Contacts? I
didn't have to go through the additional steps?

Outlook will only prompt you if you have entered an invalid address, entered
an address for which Outlook can find more than one match, or if Outlook
can't find your Contacts Folder because you have misconfigured your Outlook
Address Book. --

Hi Russ - I posted this separately to two different groups (as I forgot to
include one of them in the original post).

As you can see from my other reply, I have resolved this now.

It was a bit screwed up I think - but sorted.

Many thanks
