I don't know why Outlook 2003 can't use Word 2002 as e-mail editor and there
has no notice to user before upgrade. No I can't use Word 2002 as email
editior and I can't afford to buy Office 2003 yet. Can anyone give some
advice please. Not happy Tony

Outlook and Word must be installed in the same version to use Word as
mail editor! You also need to upgrade Word.

Well, since we know that Word 2002 cannot be used as the editor for
Outlook 2003, my advice would be to try using Outlook 2003's editor.
It works remarkably well for a whole lot of us. If you absolutely
*have* to use Word as your editor, you'll have to revert to Outlook
2002 until you can obtain Word 2003 or Office 2003.

It's true. The versions of Word and Outlook must match in order to avail
yourself of the Office integration. However, the entire Office suite is
usually only slightly more expensive that buying Outlook alone. You can
find cheaper versions on eBay or, if you qualify, you can but Office Student
and Teacher Edition, usually about US $50-100 less than Office Standard.
