Outlook 2003 with IMAP Problem

I use Outlook 2003 as my e-mail client (configured as IMAP)
Randomly my inbox or other imap folders will not show the e-mails in the
folder or it will only show a few in the folder (typically really old ones)
Then all of a sudden (like an hour or two) it resyncs with the server and
show everything.

While the error is happening (where it doesn't show all the emails) new
emails that arrive after the problem will show properly.

Please help

try removing the account and add it again. Your email should be safe since
it is stored on the server. You will download all your headers again which
might take some time.

I think there is something larger going on here.
I was hoping for a resolution to the problem.

I am the Network Admin for my company and I am in the process of upgrading
all of our Windows 2000sp4 computers with Office 2000 (using POP3) to Office
2003 (service pack 1) using IMAP.

The sympptoms I have described asre happening to several people all at
different times.
I have been talking for about 1 month now with the Manufacture of our email
server and they can't recreate the problem.
I have loggin turned on on my outlook with the hopes that can help.

Any additional ideas

What type of IMAP server are you using?

Icewarp's MeramMail Server version 7.5.2d (they are IMAP4rev1
compliant) see www.icewarp.com

Well, I've never been too confident in Outlook's IMAP implementation. I
think Outlook Express does a better job.

Unfortunately, I have definitive answers. Have you tried enabling Outlook's
logging and any logging supplied by the IMAP server to see what happens
during their protocol exchange?
