I cant quite seem to figure this one out! Tried every thing I could think to
do. Most specifc of those being, but not limited too, adding expert rules to
Zone Alarm allowing access to Port 25...still no luck. Thanks in advance to
anyone offering help or suggestions.

If this is a POP account then your incoming (POP3) server usually uses Port
110.
25 is for SMTP - sending.

In particular it's not surprising that this step did nothing because
incoming mail doesn't use port 25 on your computer. In fact, it doesn't use
ANY port on your computer. Your computer's the client. It opens a port on
the server (port 110 for POP mail). The server doesn't open a port on your
machine.

You don't state what happens when you try to receive, what errors you may
get, what type of account you have defined, what may appear int he Event
Log. Perhaps if you supply some measure of detail and state what you've
tried, someone here can guide you.

Brian thanks for the reply: All accounts are POP...I have tried all the
recommended send/receive trouble shoots listed here at MS, which there are
only 2 unless I am missing some. I didnt identify any error messages because
I am not receiving any. During send and receive it appears all is going well
except that all "test" emails that are present in my sent box are not being
sent to the inbox. Also at the time of account set up Outlook tested all
accounts as viable and working. I am simply getting no content into my
inbox...I know its probaly something simple that I am over looking, but after
2 hours of help files I figured I would go to the pro's instead of pulling
what little hair I have left out. thanks again!

Brian I saw another post concerning Windows Firewall and Outlook. You
suggested adding Outlook to the exceptions list and sure enough as soon as I
added Outlook to the F.W. E. list....here came my emails!
I am wondering about the click box preference where Windows F.W. is supposed
to let you know when it is affecting the Appl. of another program...not to
mention the security issue when instituting an exception...what are your
thoughts? Fortunately Zone Alarm operates in my Outlook very smoothly. Thanks
again for your advice!
