Outlook 2003 Using Aliases

I have a home business supplying administrative services,
including email management, for various clients. For
some, I simply use Internet or web-based mail programs.
For some others, I ask them to use a rule or
autoresponder to forward mail to me. A third means has
been for the client to set up an account for me and have
mail going into it directed to my home office. All of
these methods work. Where I run into a problem is when
the client wants me to receive and respond to the email
as though I were he/she while leaving a copy on their
server along with the response.

The use of aliases has been suggested as a great means of
handling this situation; but I feel that we must be
missing something. It seems to bring more issues than it
resolves and we still have to send bccs to everyone.

Can anyone suggest a solution for handling multiple
clients' mail?

You didn't say what you actually meant by "aliases."

When I had a VA, I dealt with this by giving her full access to my mailbox
through a web interface. That ensured that all responses stayed in the
mailbox (something Outlook handles well only with Exchange accounts). She
moved all messages that she had handled into a separate folder so I had a
clear idea of what she'd worked on.
