When I start my computer I have Outlook running at
startup so I can check my right away. Lately when I start
the computer, Outlook says it cannot connect an issues a
retry or cancel option. I have the LAN connection in the
system tray if I wait for that to connect and click retry
it will connect. Is there a way to speed up the LAN
connection so I don't keep getting this error?

This is a common problem with Outlook because of the order of Startup. Your
connection is not made until after other items start--inclucing Outlook.
Instead of using Startup folder for Outlook, put a shortcut on the Desktop
and/or in Quick Launch. Then after everything has loaded in an orderly
fashion, click on Outlook.
