Outlook 2003 Slow

I am running Outlook 2003...when hotmail did their recent upgrade it gave me
issues....at the bottom of my screen it says "send/receive status 75%" but it
is constantly jumping from 40 to 75 to 30% all day long.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

If this were to happen to me, I'd remove the Hotmail account, restart Outlook,
then readd the account.
