Outlook 2003 should let me turn off Reading Pane globally.

I have hundreds of folders, mostly in PSTs. I do not want to waste half of
my screen real estate on Reading Pane.

Hello Brian,

I had entered that complaint into a Microsoft web page, as feedback to a KB
article. It looked like it would be feedback to Microsoft; I did not
realize that it was being sent to a newsgroup until I clicked a "go" button,
and the web page responded with a newsgroup-looking 'posted' message.

Be that as it may -- I am already using /nopreview. I have worked around
the problem. The point is -- I should not have had to do this. I should
not have had to spend the three hours that it took of research in the web to
figure out how to get Outlook to give me back half of my screen real estate.
I should not have to use a cmdline switch that could be broken again with
any new update. And this appeared as a result of an update (SP1, I think?)
from the Office webpage -- all of my folders were automagically changed to a
less effective format for my business.

In looking through this newsgroup, it appears that this is a FAQ. About 10
people have asked this same question in the last 2 months. But then, you
already knew this, as you personally have answered most of these complaints
yourself. Thanks for taking the time.

But I hope that this also makes it back as feedback to Microsoft for a
future enhancement. Please do not make assumptions about people's
preferences -- it makes them angry.

Thanks,
_Scott

I'd send the feedback to outwish at microsoft dot com.
