Hello Everyone,

Any shortcuts I add or any changes I make are lost once I
close Outlook. Some seem to stay longer than others but
eventually they all disappear.

I have full Administrator privileges on the system.

Any ideas?

Shortcuts made where, and changes made to what? More info please :-)

I am making shortcuts in the Shortcuts pane, the main
Shortcuts area in Outlook. The area where you make
shortcuts to folders, contacts, etc.

I did a search and found that other people are having the
same problem and the only solution is to make a copy of
the XML file where these shortcuts are made and restore
it each time.

Do a search for the following subject: Outlook 2003
deleting shortcuts

It also has a good description of what is happening.

Hmm...I did a Google Groups search for all microsoft.public.outlook.* groups
for the keywords you supplied and didn't find any matches except for an
earlier post by you (December 24) and one from last March that didn't seem
to be the same issue. In any event, have you tried creating a new mail
profile? I don't know if you upgraded from a previous version of Outlook or
if you did a fresh install of Outlook 2003, but it seems that upgrading to
this particular version seems to cause several problems that creating a new
profile fixes (and we don't know why).

It is a fresh install of Office 2003. I will create a new
profile and give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

I am using the Microsoft web site to post to this
newsgroup. Below the list of messages there is a search
button. I used it to find other messages related to this
topic.
