For some inexplicable reason Outlook 2003 has sent out
several of my emails over and over again to one of my
mailing lists. I sent the email only one time to this
list, but it was being continually sent until I
accidently saw it (some 25 minutes later) stopped it.
Receipients got the message up to 30 times and the
message had an attachment that was 100K or over. My PC
is connected to the internet buy Cable Modem, has no
viruses, no pests or rogue programs and is up to date
with all the Microsoft updates for both Microsoft Office
2003 and Windows XP.
It is not a virus issue. I just ran a check and the PC
came up clean. I use McAfee on-line and it is up to date
(and was before the scan). McAfee runs all the time and
I run a complete sweep of all drives at least one time a
week. I have a router with a hardware firewall and I run
Zone Alarm Software Firewall to keep out intruders. I
also run Pest Patrol all the time and update it and check
my drives with it one to 3 times a month. I updated it
again tonight and ran it and the drives came up clean. I
do not believe it is a virus issue on this PC.
I find it hard to believe that the flagship email program
from Microsoft (Outlook 2003 with all the updates from
Microsoft for both Office 2003 Professional and Windows
XP installed and running) would have a "bug" that would
send only large email files to a lot of people over and
over and over. I just do not believe that is possible.
Any ideas?
