Outlook 2003 sending a non existant messasge

My Outlook when started is indicating it is sending message 1 of 1. I have no
messages in any of my outboxes and none in drafts, this sending never
completes after 5+hours. I currently cannot send any other messages as it is
insisting that a message is being sent. If I add another message to the out
box only my new message appears in the outbox folder but the text in the
bottom right of Outlook says sending message 1 of 2 but as this never
completes message 2 cannot be sent. How do I clear this phantom message as it
does not appear in any out box? Thanks.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
