I have Outlook 2003 installed and at least twice a day, I get the following
error message:

Task 'Comcast Email - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues,
contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I have tried ending all processes other than Outlook, with no change. I have
tried rebooting with no change. Sometimes it is when I first open Outlook,
and sometimes it happens after I have had it open a while. I have talked
to Comcast and they do not have any resolution for this other than to delete
all my email. As I run a business out off my home and recieve merchandise
orders via email. this is not a viable option. I can go online and read my
mail, but I am hoping there is a solution available.

Strangely enough, a friend of mine is having exactly the same problem using
OL2002. However, he gets the error message but still receives his mail. We
haven't yet got to the bottom of it.

His ISP say it has nothing to do with them so we are assuming it's an
Outlook thing. I haven't had a chance to look at his laptop yet but I guess
the first thing I would try and deleting the Account and setting it up
again.

Do you have more than one account/dialup? Does it happen on all of them?

if you're running a program like mailwasher while you're trying to download
your mail it can cause this error - at least i found that was the case with
me - when mailwasher was trying to check mail in the background it would
interere with outlook

I get this message in Outlook when another process is getting email from
the IMAP mail server, e.g. Mozilla email client, and I also have web
page access to my email server for use when I travel (Squirrel Mail).
Outlook doesn't like to share it's access to this IMAP server. It could
be you also have some other process trying to get access?

This may be a result of anti-virus or anti-spam software on your computer.
Try turning them off and see if it corrects the problem. If so, see if
there's an update to the software that doesn't have the problem.
