Hello All,

Using Outlook 2003 and Connecting to Exchange 2003

I've created a set of rules that I would like to have executed after I open
outlook. The rules I've created work when I run them using the Outlook Menu:
Tools -> Rules and Alerts -> Run Rules Now.

I understand that they are "Client Side" rules that will only run when
outlook is running, and do not operate directly via the exchange server. I
thought I understood that the rules will run when you open Outlook which
then sorts the mail in the Exchange Inbox accordingly.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in Advance

Hello,

No they do not run when outlook is open and a mail is recieved.
They operate only when I execute them manually via the Rules Wizard.

Thanks in advance,
Bruce Williams

if you leave outlook running do they work on later mail downloads? if so
it's a known issue that rules don't run immediately when outlook opens.
