I use Outlook 2003 and it started to really slow down so I used the
"repair and detect" function from the drop down menu. It got a little
better but then continued to bog down. So instead of just repair and
detect I used the "Restore all setting to Default" option.

Now when I run Outlook iIt is as if I have just installed the program,
which is not what I expected. Is there a way to retrieve my old
contacts, emails, and appointments? I have tried the "System Restore"
program to no avail.

Thanks.

Dan

If you used 'Restore all setting to Default', then it is to be expected
that all your user settings are gone. If you used the 'Save My Settings
Wizard' beforehand, then you can restore your saved settings. Otherwise
you will have to rely on a manual backup.

The PST you were using is probably still there. Add it to your new mail
profile. You could also use Control Panel's Mail applet to see if your old
profile still exists and just choose it as the default profile, if it does.
