How do I set Outlook 2003 to remove mail from the server
once the mail has been downloaded into Outlook 2003?

I know how to do it in Outlook 2000 but cannot figure how
to do it in 2003.

Thanks!
Kathy

Since the normal order of POP3 commands would be "RETR msgnum" (to
retrieve the message) followed by "DELE msgnum" (delete the message),
the normal behavior is to yank the message to keep a local copy of it
and then tell the mail server to delete it. You're asking how to do in
Outlook 2003 what is normal behavior. So what is the real behavior you
had configured in Outlook 2000?

Sounds like you have the "leave messages on server" option enabled (and
it wasn't enabled by default so you changed it). Disable this option if
you want the e-mail client to *not* follow with a DELE command after
RETRieving the message.

In Outlook 2003, go to TOOLS | SEND/RECEIVE | SEND/RECEIVE SETTINGS |
DEFINE SEND/RECEIVE GROUPS, make sure "All Accounts" is highlighted (or the
account you are having a problem with), then click EDIT. When the new dialog
box appears, click on the "Account Properties" button in the upper right,
then click on the "Advanced Tab"

Under the section marked "Delivery" - make sure "Leave Mail On The Server"
is NOT CHECKED.
