i have a win2k pc running office 2003. it's run fine for months, but
recently i had to join and new windows server 2003 domain.

since then, every program prints fine except outlook. when i print an email,
it just prints 1 or 2 letters on each line making a 1 page email be over 30
printed pages.

any ideas? i removed and added printers. it happens when printing to an
inkjet and laser. i can see the bad print in preview mode.

is there anything i can try besides uninstalling office 2003 and
reinstalling?

Lots of thoughts....
1. Is the printer you were printing to..... has it been moved into the
domain? or do you print to it via your local LPT/USB port?
2. Are you using the drivers from the printer's manufacturer???? or are you
using windows drivers. ( I always use the manufacturer's when available.)
What manufacturer is it?
3. Have your permissions been reduced in the domain... in other words, do
you have permissions to control the way this printer functions???? Can you
remove it and add it back to your machine?
4. Does Event viewer tell you anything?
5. Are the parameters for the page you are printing setup correctly (in
other words... it's not setup for some 'index card' as the 'default page'
under your printer settings.

hope this makes sense.

i yested on local lpt1 hp laserjet and networked hp inkjet. i have
administrator priv.

i've removed and added using built-in drivers

i'll check defaults tomorrow.

I have narrowed issue. if i choose FILE | PAGE SETUP in Outlook 2003 without
an open email, it defaults to a label printer (that isn't default in control
panel). I got it to successfully print an email to the local laser, but
after an hour or so, it reverted back to the label printer.

Is there a registry setting that is outlook specific concerning default
printers that overrides the system default printer?
