I have configured Outlook 2003 with the appropriate
settings for my account. Pressing the test button yields
everything passing and a test email is sent properly.
When I try to do a normal send/receive, Outlook cannot
log onto my POP3 server. Any suggestions?

Have you set your authentication on the server tab appropriately?

Due to the Swen virus, all e-mails sent to this account will be deleted
w/out reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding not answer:

Yes, I have. Works in test mode, but when I try to logon
thru Outlook's Send/Receive I get:

Task 'Mindspring Account - Receiving' reported error
(0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login.
Verify your user name and password in your account
properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The
server responded: -ERR syntax error'

I know it must be something simple I am missing. Thanks
for the reply by the way. - John

Hi, i have exactly the same problem here. First i thought that is a problem with the provider but i am using two differnt providers and the problem occurs both times. Did u get any solution in the meantime?
