OK Guys and Gals,

Our exchange server 2003 crashed !!!!
after recreating all users, unable to restore due to virus,
some users whom saved messages as offline are unable to open .ost due to not
being original account.
Any solutions??? have looked far and wide to no avail

Are they able to open Outlook when they are disconnected from the network?
If so export their mail to an pst-file to store their off-line copy. Then
create a new mail profile to connect to the rebuild mailserver and import
the pst-file.

In addition to Roady's reply - if they or you have already modified the mail
profile to try to use the existing OST file, you're probably out of luck
unless you want to shell out the cash for www.exchangerecovery.com

I don't know what you mean by "unable to restore due to virus". Did you have
good backups (Exchange online backups and system state, presuming this was
your sole DC)?
You need good Exchange aware antivirus software.
You need good server hardware - I suggest hardware SCSI RAID with a
hotspare.
Also, you should have notified users that they were not to work offline
during the period when your server was down, given that you were changing
the server setup entirely.
Sounds like you need to review your administrative practices....what you did
to recover should not have been necessary. Perhaps your company could engage
a consultant to help with the setup & show you best practices for your daily
admin - Exchange/AD isn't all that hard to keep running properly if it's set
up right.
