Outlook 2003 not receiving e-mail

Hi

I followed the thread for a message on 02/08/04 (UK
dating)- 06.01 about Outlook not receiving messages. Have
the same problem and when I tried the suggested solution
I found "Reset Current Value" is greyed (grayed?) out

I have a standalone PC with - in theory (i.e. still
trying to set up c/o MS - some kind of laptop support)
i.e. no server/ nor anthing I think might be
called "Exchange" (?)

Outlook "test messages" show that the Accounts are
working - but they do not arrive back into Outlook on PC-
but in Outlook Express on laptop!

Before reformat I was getting incoming mail via Outlook -
what am I doing wrong???

Any help gratefully received

Make sure the OE on the laptop has "Leave a copy on server" checked or OE will get the mail faster than Outlook. Outlook is more complex and takes a little longer than OE, so there will not be any mail to download from the server if both programs are running.

However, the problem occurs even when the laptop is
switched off. It was the lack of e-mails coming into
Outlook that made me suspicious. When I opened OE on the
laptop around 30 e-mails sent over previous few hours
came in. (I'd guess the same thing would have happened
had I used OE on the PC!)

Any other thingsI could try?
