Outlook 2003 - no longer receiving

I wonder if anyone can help with this strange problem.

For no apparent reason I stopped being able to receive mail this afternoon
on one of my email accounts (the primary one). I can send mail from this
account but not receive. I get a fairly generic error which says
"Connection to the server was interrupted...". Not only that, I cannot get
to webmail from my PC, although my ISP is able to and says there is nothing
wrong their end.

I can get to my mail via www.mail2web.com and have in fact now put
forwarding on it to forward to an account that is working.

But it's a mystery as to why it has suddenly stopped working. I have no
viruses or trojans and have done a thorough scan of my PC with both Nortons
and Spyware Dr. in case of any problems there.

I have tried setting up the same account on OE but get the same problem.

I can get mail through on all my other accounts with no problem.

Can anyone shed any light on this. Or anyone had any similar problems?

Many thanks

Yes - to be exact the error is:

"Receiving reported error (0x800CC0F): The connection to the server was
interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator
or ISP"

Something interfered with your connection to the server, as both the error
message and this comment "cannot get to webmail from my PC" indicate.

Check your firewall settings and wait... it's either on your end or the ISP
(even thought they say it's working, it might be from inside but not from
outside). These types of problems generally resolve themselves within hours.

You're quite right - it did resolve - but not before the entire broadband
service disappeared altogether and I couldn't connect to anything for
several hours.

But it suddenly came back last night and all is well.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Regards

Chris
