Hello.

I recently installed Office 2003, an upgrade from Office 2000. I am
having a problem with Outlook - my address book is empty. My Contacts
folder has the addresses I need, but when I look at the properties for
Contacts -> Outlook Address Book, "Show this folder as an e-mail
Address Book" is grayed out and I cannot select it. "Directories and
Address Books" under E-mail Accounts is empty.

There is another problem that might be related. My primary mail folder
is named "King's Email". Below that is another folder named "Personal
Folders". If I right-click on "Personal Folders" and try to close the
folder, the message is: "The operation failed. An object could not be
found." The "Data File Management" window is empty.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Go back to Tools | E-mail Accounts and under address books, add the Outlook
Address Book.

However, since you have a phantom Personal Folders file, it might be easier
just to create a new Outlook profile in the Mail applet in Control Panel.

Hi Sue,

Thank you very much! Creating a new profile took care of everything.
I'd buy your book, but I went to the web page and it is way over my
head! Again, thanks.

King
