I'm running WINDOWS XP Home w/ SP2 and all necessary Office updates for 2000
& 2003, and MICROSOFT DEFENDER BETA 2.

The JUNK MAIL FILTER UPDATE for February 2006 will not go into place. I am
being required to shut off my machine every time for the update to take
place, but it doesn't seem to go into place.

What is wrong with this picture?

I'm continually getting this update, but I don't have Outlook 2003, what can
I do to stop this update from happening?

Do you have any part of Office 2003 on your system?

I have Outlook 2003 Standard and Front Page 2003, but that's all. The rest
is Office 2000

Does that have anything to do with it? I was getting junk mail filters
before but not since November of 2005.

Huh? In your previous message you said:

EIther you have Outlook 2003 or you don't. Which is it?

Oops. I've badly confused two different posters' messages. Sorry.

I can't explain why you're not getting the updates because with Outlook 2003
you should be downloading them. What have you done in an attempt to get
them?

I am at a loss for knowing how to proceed further in this.
I manually downloaded the filter update and it's not being accepted.
Furthermore, when asked for my disk it claims that I do not have the correct
disk.

The last one that my Outlook 2003 received seems to be the October 2005
download.

My mail server has filters in place currently and it does a fine job. I just
like a little redundency on the workstation end, plus I thought it might be
something that MICROSOFT needed to be aware of.

Can you give me any ideas of what to attempt now?
