Outlook 2003 Issues with Vista Ultimate

When I open Outlook 2003 it pauses every three or four seconds for about two
seconds. Nothing can be done during these pauses. Does anyone know of a
solution? It's gotten to the point I am thinking of going back to XP or
getting a Mac. I just want the thing to work! Thanks so much!
 
I think someone mentioned a problem with outlook 2003 and vista
