or maybe having two instances of Outlook running. Using different profiles
is not very usefull,
and just adding a second mailbox, is difficult to manage as sending email
"on behalf of", and deleting
Items are always placed in the "Sent Items" and "Deleted Items" of the main
mailbox.

Nope. Outlook supports just one exchange account per profile and one
instance. You can either access the extra mailboxes using imap or try fast
user switching - rumor is that you can run a second instance in the other
desktop. However if you use a domain logon or win2k, this isn't an option.
Since I log into domains, I never tried it.

I will try using IMAP (as I have never had any reason to use it before).
But do Outlook support IMAP when also using the Exchange Server connection
?.
If not, I will lose my calendar functions.

Thanks

IMAP only supports mail - so you won't have calendar and other special
folders with IMAP. I connect to my main Exchange server with Outlook's mapi
support and to a second exchange server with IMAP - I only need to access
mail (and public folders) so it works well - and I can send using the
account very easily. There is a utility called the InsightConnector that
accesses IMAP mailboxes using mapi you could try.

My main server includes several mailboxes I open in my profile - they are
configured with send as permissions so I can send using the mailbox address
without the 'on behalf of' crap. Ask the admin if you can have send as
permissions on the folders. Sent items still go into my main mailbox though.

I connect to my main Exchange server with Outlook's mapi
support and to a second exchange server with IMAP
But not simultaneously ? (when using the Exchange service, the Internet
E-mail service only supports pop3 and not IMAP) or am I missing something.
InsightConnector
Looks promising, but I would rather try to see if I could make Outlook work
without.
Sent items still go into my main mailbox though.
Big problem as the mail to/from the different mailboxes may NOT be mixed.

Yes, currently I have my mailbox, 2 secondary mailboxes on the same server,
3 imap accounts on a different exchange server in my profile.

Outlook 2003 supports IMAP. The Exchange server needs it enabled (I think it
is by default, but the admin might disable it).

It sounds like you have Outlook 2000 running in Corporate/Workgroup mode.
That indeed does not support IMAP. You'd need to upgrade to Outlook 2002 or
Outlook 2003 to get simultaneous IMAP and Exchange support.

Exactly !. Sorry for not mentioning that. I get hold of a newer version of
